Where has the future gone? Events scheduling challenge in WordPress

Despite working with WordPress for what feels like forever, this week a new problem with the way posts work emerged to challenge me.

A website I’ve been working on has an events page which displays WordPress posts that are in the category ‘Events’. Makes sense doesn’t it?

Problem: the website wouldn’t display events in the future as WordPress schedules posts dated in the future to appear on that date. Makes sense in a way, but not really. And it really isn’t very useful if the event is only displayed on the day it takes place.

Some of us like to plan ahead!

The solution, thank goodness I hear you say, was a quick and easy WordPress plugin called ‘The Future is Now’. Once you install the plugin, posts dated in the future appear on the website. Phew. The future has been found.

“Adam from Cambridge Web Solutions is a fantastic Web Designer. He looked at my idea for my business website and worked wonders. The result is a professional, clean look which fits my brand, meets my needs and, more importantly, the needs of my prospective clients. I cannot recommend Adam highly enough.”
