Why we don’t do multiple designs

The reason that some design and web agencies give clients three or four designs to choose from is based on a false premise.

That premise is that the client will choose their favourite design for further development.

This rarely happens.

What does happen is that the client chooses something from each design. And then want the designer to come up with an alternative. This inevitably means a ‘Frankenstein design’. Something that doesn’t look quite right, something that has poor usability.

Cambridge Web Solutions aims to get it right first time. We work with the client to produce one design. One design that really works. We work together with the client using interviews, mood boards and wireframes. Time and time again we find that this creates a better result; the client feels a sense of ownership of the site; and from a design point of view, these sites work.
